Lucy Jorgensen (B Ed, LLB)
Lucy was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in February 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Queensland University of Technology. Lucy joined Bakers Lawyers in mid 2016 after leaving her previous career as a teacher and has not looked back. She provides legal advice in relation to business and commercial matters as well as strata-titling. She prides herself on providing professional yet personal support to all clients.
Leanne has been with Bakers Lawyers since its inception back in 2001 and is the Office Manager. She also specialises in Wills, Powers of Attorney and other estate planning matters. Leanne has vast experience helping clients attend to all their estate planning needs and can be often found cruising the streets of the Sunshine Coast visiting clients, ensuring all their paperwork is in order. She is a mother to a budding young Wallaby, who is currently playing in the Grammar 1st XV. Keep your eye out for No.12!
Chris Baker (LLB, Grad DipLP)
Chris completed a double degree of Law and Commerce at the University of Queensland in 1988 and completed articles with what was then known as Cannan and Peterson in Brisbane. After 2 years of travelling overseas Chris moved to Bundaberg in 1991 and became a partner of a Finemore Walters and Story in 1993. Chris relocated to the Sunshine Coast 1998 and established Bakers Lawyers in 2001.
Chris established his practice with a handful of clients, a lap top and bubble jet printer and now has a practice with over 2000 active clients and offices at Maroochydore Buderim and Maleny.
Chris is an honorary lawyer for a number of local charities on the coast and is involved in many community pursuits including Rotary, cricket coaching, editor of a community paper and President of the Bli Bli Community Association.
Chris is married with 2 children and his other interests are cattle breeding and running.
Jasmin has been with the firm for over 10 years and is the team’s conveyancing all-rounder, having worked across all relevant areas of buying and selling residential property. Jasmin is now a very proud Mum to a 2 year old boy and comes in part time to assist the conveyancing team. You may also hear her bubbly voice answer the phone so if your conveyancer is unavailable, feel free to ask Jas. She will most likely be able to help you.
Vanessa began working for legal practices in NSW before seeing the light and moving to the beautiful Sunshine Coast with her husband and two children, they have never looked back.
She has worked for legal practices for nearly two decades and has spent nearly her whole career in conveyancing. It is fair to say that Vanessa has ‘seen it all’ when it comes to conveyancing files! She enjoys great lasting relationships with her clients and has a loyal following of people that love to deal with her. Plus, her organisation and attention to detail are second to none.
Vanessa is an asset to the Bakers Lawyers team; clients can sleep easy knowing that she has their matter in hand.
Natalie joined Bakers Lawyers in 2015 and comes from 17 years experience working in the real estate industry. Natalie will be covering most practice areas however her specialty is in conveyancing and she will be looking after all our clients who are selling residential properties.
Rob Ormsby holds a Bachelor of Laws with honours from Bond University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Rob was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in June 2013.
Rob worked in Corporate Banking and Finance for over a decade. He also worked for a large Petroleum and Gas operator negotiating complex commercial agreements. Rob has particular interests in business, commercial property and complex negotiation.
Outside of work Rob can be seen swimming, cycling and running after his young children. Or competing in Ironman events.
